Gunner is the horse I look forward to getting on after having a long winter break. He's no nonsense and always ready for a job. His cow ability is exciting, he makes a long day fun and his work ethic is astounding  Gunner has no quit and that is exactly what I want to lead my breeding program. He'll meet you at the gate, even with bridle in hand, day after day. Ranching requires a certain type of horse, one that a person can rely on to get a job done, no matter how hot or cold it is and regardless of the terrain...and I have ridden him in some really rough country with steep draws and winding ravines, creeks and deadfall.   He is surefooted and gets the job done.

 

Gunner is out of one of my favorite broodmares of all time, "Alotta Style N Grace". She was a AA multiple race winner with a black-type female family and had a wonderful disposition that she passed down to her foals. Her sire Shoot Yeah, was a Champion on the track and sired multiple Champions in the arena. Shoot Yeah is also a proven broodmare sire, several of his best were by Fire Water Flit or his sons. Alive N Firen sired Brittany Pozzi's "Duke", out of a daughter of Shoot Yeah.

Gunner has no Dash For Cash in his pedigree, making him a great out cross on Dash Ta Fame and Frenchman's Guy mares. I love what he sires crossed on my race bred mares, adding substance and a quiet mind. Crossed on direct daughters and granddaughters of cowhorse greats, he adds height, bone and speed.  Gunner carries 1 copy of the W20 gene. That means he can enhance his offspring's white markings. Excellent for those that like chrome or breed APHA mares and need a better chance of expressing white markings.

Gunner's oldest foals are just now being ridden and just a few are just now competition age. The first filly to enter is a barrel racing money earner. I am getting excellent feedback that they are beautiful, intelligent and so easy to work with. Most are out of straight race bred or cow bred dams. He really enhances the head, adds a beautiful cheek and tiny ears. He is siring correct conformation and replicates himself on most of his foals. But that disposition is second to none.

His offspring are marketable and I am seeing his babies sell easily for more than 5x his stud fee, above the industry standard.  I offer mare owners the opportunity to list their foals for sale on my Facebook page (307 Quarter Horses) as well as my website.  Gunner's foals are eligible for several barrel racing incentives and will be added to more in the future as his foals become of age. I have my sights on the 5-State Futurity, Tomorrows Legends & Select Stallion Stakes. He is on the waiting list for the Breeders Challenge, Blue Collar Breeders & Royal Crown.  Gunner continues to book quality mares every year and I look forward to seeing his offspring compete in the near future.
